Only a Sport like Paintball Can Let You Adorn That Military Gear
Article by Coolsusanbrown
One of the most popular games that are fast gaining popularity across the globe is that of paintball. And there are several reasons for that. What the gladiators used to do in the ancient Rome, or what the armies had been doing since a long time now, the game of paintball allows the common man no matter to which profession they belong to, to do that and become the soldiers who are well equipped with everything that an army man might need to fight tooth and nail with the opponents. The best part of the sport is that it has no place for complacency and allows the individual who is already high due to the rise of his adrenaline to go all out and shoot or maim the enemy and capture his territory. And the finishing touch is given by the military gear that is supplied by the organizers of the sport.
When the same sport that allows the killer instinct inside of you to come to the fore and then ask you to let it lose then the best thing that can happen is that all your inhibitions would be taken away from you and what would be left is the warrior that is complete from within with that killer instinct and from outside with the military gear adorning that physique.
The aggressive nature of the game has made it very popular in the countries that have to deal with harsh climates throughout the year. And one such country that embraced this sport with all the grace that it could muster was the country of Canada. It is a well known fact that the majority of the population of this country is obsessed with sports and could not possibly have ignored a sport like paintball that gives them an opportunity to raise a toast to their adventurous spirits. And once the military gear Canada is adorned by the adventure loving Canadians then the best thing that would happen to them is it would instill in them a feeling of going responsibly wild again.
Although the country of Canada has many other sports that are loved and admired by the people there but the sport of paintball is one such sport that has captured the imagination of these people like no other sport has. And specially when for a mouthful of hours they can adorn the military gear Canada and feel like what a warrior feels from inside, the reason behind the popularity of this sport automatically becomes explicit.

Base Jumping: A Truly Extreme Sport
Article by Gray Rollins
BASE jumping is not a sport for the faint of heart. Athletes who practice this extreme sport climb to the top of tall buildings, canyons, or other structures; jump off; enjoy a period of free falling; then open a parachute and coast to the ground.
The acronym BASE stands for building, antennae, span, and earth; which make up a comprehensive list of what kinds of fixed objects BASE jumpers plummet from. Span is a term that includes all sorts of bridges, or any other structures that span over a valley or chasm. Earth means anything from cliffs to mountains to canyons.
BASE jumping is very dangerous for a variety of reasons, but the most common causes of injury and death have to do with failure to maintain a clear area around the athlete during the jump and/or the landing. If the wind is against them or if they make a mistake during the launch of their jump, athletes sometimes collide with the object that they have jumped from. Because BASE jumping areas are usually not designated for this guerilla-style sport, the makeshift landing targets that jumpers aim for are rarely large enough to allow for a safe jump. As a result many BASE enthusiasts meet with serious and sometimes fatal injuries because they haven’t been able to steer themselves to the landing area in time.
Many people compare BASE jumping to bungee jumping without a bungee cord, but it is actually much closer to skydiving without an airplane. Jumpers practice many of the same techniques that divers use to maintain stability and altitude awareness while they are in the air. Before becoming a BASE jumper, an athlete must complete a full course of skydiver training. Once they have their full skydiving certification, the next step for anyone interested in BASE is to find a mentor in the jumping community who can teach them how to take on these ambitious freefalls. Only experienced divers can even contemplate a BASE jump because this kind of unguided and somewhat unpredictable activity requires razor sharp awareness of altitude, along with stellar free fall technique.
BASE jumping is one of the most dangerous sports practiced today. Every year, BASE jumping leads to several fatalities, and most major BASE societies and clubs have seen at least one member perish in pursuit of the sport that he or she loved. Because no two jumps are alike, it is very difficult to predict what will happen once you start plummeting towards the ground. This means that to survive a BASE jump you need to have a very level head, an ability to react to surprises without panicking, and lightning speed reflexes that will allow you to make instantaneous adjustments in your position or your trajectory. However, no amount of experience can guarantee that you will complete your jump without mishap, so even very accomplished jumpers are taking serious risks every time they prepare to hurl themselves off of a building, antennae, span, or natural cliff.

Hot Air Ballooning Ride the Skies From Dawn till Dusk An extreme sport
Article by Andy Bolton
My first Hot Air Balloon ride was back in 1997 it seems like a long time ago now but I remember it like yesterday. Getting up at a staggering 4.00 am in the morning and driving to the Balloon Club. I had been given a Day out experience of a lifetime for a birthday present.
As a choice for an extreme sport it seemed the safest option as I had a choice of a parachute jump which I had done previously and can I highly recommend not to do again ever. The other fabulous choice was a diving experience and as I’m already a Divemaster I chose to do the Hot Air Balloon ride.
I drove up to the balloon centre and was welcomed and given the experience which includes the safety talk introduced to the day’s hot air balloon pilot and prospected course and a brief history of the sport of Hot Air Ballooning.
Watching in the early hours of the morning the giant red envelope inflating trying to calm my last minute nerves. Eventually the envelope was full enough to tilt the basket to the horizontal position. The pilot was fantastic at calming me and fianc
Internet Marketing – An Extreme Sport
Article by Jayesh Khandor
Why i consider internet marketing to be an extreme sport?
As it turns out, plenty! I went to a IPL T20 cricket match final in mumbai with my friends and, in between buying outrageously priced food, I thought about what cricket (or any sport) has in common with internet marketing. I know, you may think it’s a bit of a stretch, but these simple analogies will make all of us to consider internet marketing to be an extreme sport.
1.Enter the ground with determination – Let’s start with most apparent. You need to have sheer determination to rich the finish line or score the winnig run. You’ve got to have the same kind of determination to your business and your marketing efforts.
2.Take proper stance and be ready – It takes an intense focus and concentration to hit a 100 mile-per-hour fastball. You must be on you toes, ready to respond, and completely ready for anything that might be hit his way. Are you paying attention in your business? Are you nimble, prepared and ready to react?
3.Give it a real go – It’s not the half-hearted shots that wins you matches, you need to swing hard for that. In your marketing efforts and in your business in general, you’ve got to take big swings. If you want to hit winning runs, you’ve got to swing for the fences!
4.Have a game plan – Just as an australian cricketer may make it look effortless, they never take the field without a game plan. Business, like cricket, is a game of strategy. Plan ahead. Study the competition. Know your strengths and weaknesses. And most important, execute.
5.Team game – No matter how good the individuals in the team are, it’s the team that wins cricket matches. While this is painfully obvious, you need to ask yourself how teamwork can benefit you. How can you use the combined efforts of your team to win?
6.Life lesson – The players we most admire are the guys who are as great off the field as they are on the field. You’ve got to bring your “A” game every day, both in business and in life!
7.Never give up – As they say in cricket “No game is over till the last ball is bowled”, to succeed as an entrepreneur, you’re going to need that same kind of dogged persistence and determination.
8.Be aggressive – Good players always plays agressively. They run hard. They stretch full. They don’t let up. How are you playing in your business? Can you put in even more effort? Can you push a little harder?
9.Use a variety of “weapons” – A champion team uses many different ways to win. They have a variety of weapons in their arsenal. Are you using an assortment of marketing weapons in your business? Look for ways to add some depth to your armoury and don’t rely on just one or two methods.
After considering these nine points, i am sure many readers will agree with me and apply things to their marketing campaign if they haven’t yet.

Olympic Personal Change – The New Extreme Sport
Article by Dorothy Tannahill Moran
Copyright (c) 2009 Dorothy Tannahill Moran
This week a person made an observation of me that stuck with me long enough to think up this concept. He observed that change was really a big part of who I was but noted that most people run the other way due to fear and loathing of change.
Like a fire fighter running into a burning building, I also run to the flame of change. Why is that? What makes a person gravitate to things that frighten other people? It occurred to me that it is a lot like an extreme sport. There is a skill, a process and a bit of fearlessness that comes with the confidence. The confidence is not foolishness. The confidence is the type of feeling you get when you are practiced and thoughtful. A fire fighter doesn’t just rush into a burning building. Equipment is gathered. The body is conditioned and the mind is practiced and knowledgeable about what lies ahead. The extreme sport of initiating and mastering change in your life is exactly the same. So finally, I’m a Personal Change “Athlete”!
I contend that within each of us lies the personal change athlete just waiting to get out. As with any sport, you have to work on your capability and over time, it improves. What do you need to do to get into personal change shape?
Understand the ProcessThere are 2 parts to change: 1) an event and 2) the internal, emotional “adjustment” you make to the event. The internal part is known as transition and that is often the part we dislike the most. Transition can make us anywhere from mildly confused to seriously uncomfortable. This discomfort is a natural reaction we have while we are learning new behaviors driven by the change event. Many people find some satisfaction in simply knowing that what they are going through is natural and will pass. We tend to avoid things we aren’t familiar with. Learn to take on new things with curiosity and openness. There are things you can do to help yourself improve your situation.
Plan Your Way Through the ProcessWhat are some things you could do to help yourself adjust to your life following a change? I have found that in both organizationally prompted changes and personal changes, if a person sits down and answers this question, it will help them in many ways. Emotionally, it gives you an anchor or something to focus on so you’re not so caught up in feeling funky. At a practical level you most likely need to be taking some actions to accommodate a variety of things the change has impacted.
Examine Previous Changes and LearnWe don’t do this often enough. We are so busy gritting our teeth; we tend to just be glad it’s over and move on without looking back. If you are facing an upcoming change sit down and reflect on other changes in your life. What are some things you did that helped reduce the discomfort? What should you avoid? Make it a practice to use change events as an opportunity to learn more about yourself. Record your results and then add to them over time. Each time you go through a change, you will learn more about what helps you to maximize the opportunities that come with change.
Develop a Support SystemLearn to experience all the internal and external changes you are making. Talk about them with others, especially people who have had experience going through what you are about to go through. Not all people are the right support to have. So don’t think your entire base of friends is your target group. You don’t need people who fuel your anxiety or are dismissive. If you need to blow off steam, find the ear that will let you vent without personal involvement in what your issue is. If you need insight, find that person.
Take Care of YourselfDon’t over-do anything. Don’t step up the drinking, smoking or eating. Exercise. It will help reduce anxiety and give you a greater sense of peace. Get enough sleep. Think about some other things you can do to make yourself feel calm like a walk or massage.
Becoming a world class “Personal Change Athlete” is simply a matter of getting familiar with the process and not allowing it to be something to fear. It doesn’t take courage, it takes practice.

Are Powerisers an extreme sport?
Article by Bryant Schroeder
Exciting many across the planet is one of the newest extreme sports to grace the sporting community: jumping stilts. The sport is currently gaining backing across the world as one of the most advanced and adventurous activities one can perform. Also named powerbocking after its creator, Alexander Bock, these adjustable stilts enable the user to execute fast-paced and terrific acts of leaping and running.Lots of people liken the actions to those of people who traverse urban structures by streaking and leaping. For the uniformed, this new sport is simply like fads such as Frisbee golf and handball. But to the sophisticated user, these inventions allow a user to execute some of the most amazing feats of acrobatics ever witnessed. Although there are a number of professional types, the most successful companies are those that are geared towards the amateurs.Flying Locust, Skyrunner, Powerriser and 7 League Boots are some of the most successful companies selling cost-effective models. Because there are still copyright issues from the original invention by Alexander Bock, many of these companies either pay proceeds to the creator or are viewed as illegal in many nation. The design of the jumping stilts includes a foot pad that offers a snowboard-style fastener to keep the individual’s foot in place. This pad is placed atop a foot-plate that is connected to a fiberglass leaf spring.By applying their own weight, a jumping stilt-user can jump and maneuver nearly 3.5 feet off the ground and run up to 20 mph. The distance between steps is also an awe-inspiring nearly 4 meters. The invention allows the use of the human energy that is usually not utilized on a day-to-day basis. As people walk, the foot is lifted by muscle force and brought back down because of gravity. This causes the spring to accumulate that energy and forces the body back up into the air. Jumping stilts are made from strong metal springs that utilize a person’s natural muscle strength. They feature strong plastic buckle straps for safety and comfort and feature adjustable height to fit many different leg lengths. As far as health benefits, jumping stilts provide a strong cardiovascular workout and assists in increased leg strength. These inventions represent the ultimate in speed and strength for those interested in extreme sports. By enabling its users to perform impressive athletic feats, many of the world’s extreme athletes have become fascinated by the device. Racing at unbelievable velocities and leaping and hurdling higher than humanly possible have made every one who enjoys excitement to pay attention. They have been shown on commercials, concerts and halftime shows in sports. A small core of people have also begun to work in a professional and semi-professional way at sporting events worldwide. Jumping stilts are now one of the newest extreme sports in the world.

The Extreme Sport of Paintball
Article by Art Jones
Paintball, due to its dangerous and exciting nature, is considered by many to be an extreme sport. This places it with other extreme sports such as mountain climbing, motocross, race car driving, sky diving, and speed boating. Advantageous for paintball is that it is one of the few extreme sports that supplies you with a sense of danger and an adrenaline rush without a risk of serious injury, due to accident or an error in judgment.
Paintball is not so extreme and challenging that it excludes other things like teaching valuable skills and team participation. Unlike other extreme sports, paintball encourages people of all ages and genders to play together on teams and helps social interaction. For these reasons, paintball is one the fastest growing extreme sports.
The game is more than just running around in the woods or rural areas. Recently, it has been moving from these classic locations to urban areas and other manufactured locations for added challenges. It is also very accessible to a wide variety of individuals, since it does not require extensive training, and generally has no barriers to gender, strength or age.
In order to participate in a paintball game, you will need to invest in some required equipment. Typically this equipment involves paintball guns, paintballs, an air supply or cartridges. In addition, one will also need protective gear, such as special padded clothes and coverings for the eyes and head. The head gear is typically a helmet and varying types of protective masks to shield the face and neck.
The paintballs are shot out of paintball guns at high velocity by compressed air toward a target, either stationary or at other players. Part of the exhilaration of the game involves avoiding getting hit anywhere on the body by a paintball. Many say that getting hit can be painful, depending on where it strikes, although padding and other protection prevent most serious injuries. Paintballs contain a nontoxic paint in varying colors, which is also water soluble, so it can easily be washed off of gear, clothing and skin.
There are many game variations to paintball, all of which are filled with danger, excitement and exhilaration. A popular game for team play is called
Kite Surfing Ranks as Top Extreme Sport
Article by Thomas Cutler
In a national survey commissioned by the American Kite Surfing Association (AKSA), kite surfing, a relatively new sport in North America, is ranked as the top Extreme Sport. Among the sixteen hundred athletes participating in the study, 71% listed kite surfing as the most exciting and dynamic extreme sport. Only a third had actually attempted the sport yet nearly all indicated that intended to “give it a try” before the end the year. Participants were between the ages of 18 – 35 and all were self-identified sports enthusiast. The margin of error in this research is +/- 2%. Other extreme activities were far distance in ranking including skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, inline skating, BMX, MotoX.
This dramatic interest in the athletically demanding sport has given AKSA founders encouragement about the value of their newly founded organization. Logan Long, co-founder of the association was not surprised by the results; “It’s just simply the biggest adrenaline rush available. The combination of air, water, land, wind power, physical strength and balance the force of nature are the qualities that attract Kite Surfers.”
American Kite Surfing Association is the leading organization for kite surfers in North America. Founded in 2006 by two extreme sport enthusiasts, membership is anticipated to exceed 30,000 before the end of the year. The purpose of the enterprise is to bring heightened awareness to this fast-growing, dynamic, and fun sport. A vast array of information, products, and techniques are available to the visitors of the AKSA website, http://www.kite-surfingusa.com.
